Good to Me

I wrapped my bible today because it’s starting to fall apart.

The words on the front are lyrics from “Good to Me,” an AWESOME song by Audrey Assad. (Listen here!) I chose to put this lyric because it’s a good reminder of why I read the bible – God’s Word is truth, and it’s full of so many good promises that I don’t deserve at all. Especially during this time leading up to Easter, I am reminded of how good God is to me, and how crazy it is that I am His and He is mine!

God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

Also, I read 1 John 1:5-10 today and it was just like WOW. God wants to have a relationship with me but I’m too busy being preoccupied with silly things like school or people’s opinions or this blog. I have been humbled, and I am reminded of how BLESSED I am to know Him.

This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (1 John 1:5-10)
